Jarmez Smith

Owner of Dapper Mobile

Jarmez Smith owns and operates a mobile barber shop business in the St. Louis area. He has customized one barber trailer – a significant competitive advantage over his competition and he brings his 16+ years of styling to you! He’s completed the Spark Tank program in Ferguson and wants to expand his business with a second trailer and hire a new stylist for that mobile store. This expansion will allow him to build some personal wealth and allow another stylist to share in the rewards of having their own shop. But he needs capital to do this!

Steve Johnson

Owner of STL Transit Group + 5-Star CDL Training

What started as a way to earn a living has evolved through Steve's work at the Spark Tank to a full local/regional trucking line serving the St. Louis region. He envisions his trained and talented drivers on the road with three trucks serving the many contacts/contracts he has developed over his years as a driver. For his business to expand, it’s time for Steve to get out of the cab and work on the business, not just in the business. He has earned the opportunity to succeed and generate wealth in his business at the rate those outside marginalized communities with access to capital can, but he needs help from you.

Success Stories

"The Spark Tank has changed how I think about and act in and through my business. Being introduced to fundamental business principles have helped me refine my value proposition and business strategies. Essentially, the Spark Tank has closed the gap for me between "I want to" and "I can." This has given me hope and a promise for the Ferguson community."
